How does the Yale Smart Alarm Hub connect to the internet?
There are two options to connect to the internet:
1: Via an ethernet cable directly to your router
2: Via Wi-Fi connection to your router. NOTE: the Yale Smart Alarm is compatible with 2.4 Ghz frequency networks
How do I configure my Yale Smart Alarm Keypad?
Following the setup process of the Yale Keypad you will be asked to create an alarm code. This code will be used to arm and disarm your Yale Smart Alarm System.
There is also an option to enable or disable the Yale Keypad backlight within the Yale Home app via the Settings menu.
Everyday Use
- To fully arm your system from within the Yale Home app press AWAY on the Yale Alarm dashboard screen or favorite screen.
- To fully arm your system using the Yale Keypad, press the AWAY arm button on the Yale Keypad followed by your alarm code.
- To fully arm your system using the Yale Keyfob, press the AWAY arm button followed by your alarm code.
- Yale Home app access.
- Alarm code access when a Yale Alarm Keypad is installed.
- Via a dedicated Yale Keyfob specific to that user.

How do I add more users to my Yale Smart Alarm system?
In the Yale Home app, navigate to guest management and click invite.

How do I remove an accessory?
Within the Yale Home app, go to Device Settings , select the accessory to be removed then select Disconnect Device.
How will I be notified if my Alarm is triggered?
You will be notified by push notifications on your Smartphone via the Yale Home app.
If you have subscribed to one of our subscription plans, you can also be notified by a phone call or by a monitoring provider.
Troubleshooting
My accessories are not learning to my Yale Smart Alarm hub?
Check the batteries are inserted correctly and the plastic travel/packaging strip is removed.
During the learning process, ensure you have activated the device tamper button.
My Hub reports that It is offline?
Check the Yale Smart Alarm hub is connected to the internet. In the Yale Home App, go to Hub Settings > Utilities > Network settings, here you can check both ethernet and Wi-Fi connection.
Check the ethernet cable is connected if using ethernet.
Check if other devices in the same household are offline, the local network itself may be offline.
My Yale Smart Alarm Siren activates immediately when entering the property?
Check your sensor settings, you should have 1 entry zone which is usually the front door, when set as the front door, this zone triggers a countdown before triggering the Alarm Siren.
In the Yale Home app, go into Device Settings > Security Areas > Select the security area you want to change.
Under 'Modes' you can change the Entry and Exit delay time from immediate (0 seconds) to 120 seconds.
Why does my Yale Home app keep triggering notifications for no reason?
There should always be a reason for which the Yale Home app sends you a notification.
Check the activity feed in the Yale Home app to see what has triggered the app notifications.
The activity feed will list all events from all accessories connected. (for example, critical battery, tamper alert, etc.)

What do the LEDs on the Yale Smart Alarm hub indicate?
The Yale Smart Alarm Hub has 3 LEDs.
White LED that is on all the time to show it is powered and all status is ok.
Orange warning triangle LED to alert you the system needs attention.
Red cloud disconnect icon LED which means the hub is not communicating to our cloud.
How many accessories can I add to my Yale Smart Alarm Hub?
You can add up to 100 accessories to one Yale Smart Alarm hub.
Can I extend my entry/exit time on the Yale Smart Alarm?
Yes to do this, in the Yale Home app, go into Device Settings > Security Areas.
Select the security area you want to change > under Modes you can change the Entry and Exit delay time from immediate ( 0 seconds) to 120 seconds.
Can I add more than one Yale Siren to my Yale Smart Alarm?
Yes, you can add multiple sirens to your Alarm system.
