Troubleshooting DoorSense
DoorSense™ is Yale Home’s newest feature and technology that lets you know the status of your door. With DoorSense, you have peace of mind via the Yale Home Application that your door is either open or closed.
Doorsense
Yale’s DoorSense technology uses magnetic fields to help determine if the position of your door is open or closed. Therefore, any changes to the magnetic field surrounding the lock may affect the accuracy of the DoorSense readings. This can include removing and replacing the front faceplate (battery cover) or bringing another magnet into the range of the lock.
Setting up DoorSense is easy via our in-app Calibration steps, there is also an installation guide to assist you within the Yale Home application.
There are many door and frame constructions out in the markets, some door constructions and designs may impair the ability to install the DoorSense magnet in the optimum location.Should you face difficulties, please find some handy tips below to help:
- The DoorSense magnet must be positioned in line with the thumb-turn on the Yale Linus® Smart Lock L2 on a Linus.
- Install a spacer behind the DoorSense Magnet to bring the magnet level with the door.
- Add another DoorSense magnet on top of the existing DoorSense magnet to increase the magnetic field strength.
