How do I install my CCTV?

What app do I need to use for my Smart Motion CCTV?

The Yale View App. This is available through the App Store for iOS or Play store for Android.

How many cameras can I use with my XVR?

4 Channel XVRs will take 4 wired cameras. 8 Channel XVRs will take 8 wired cameras.

I skipped the QR code to download the app in set-up. Can I go back to it?

Yes, go to "Network" menu option in the main menu, then select the "P2P" menu option 

The QR code will be displated, scan with your Yale View app.

Everyday Use

    How do I connect my CCTV system to my TV?

    Via either HDMI/VGA ports on the back of the XVR.

    Can I add Wi-Fi cameras to my Smart Motion CCTV XVR?

    Yes. You can add 1 Wi-Fi camera onto a 4 Channel XVR and 2 Wi-Fi cameras onto a 8 channels XVR (if all other ports are used with wired cameras).

    To add, go to the main menu, select  camera, connect your camera ethernet cable to the router, then click 'IP Search'.

    How do I reset my camera back to factory settings?

    Complete the reset form on the app.

    How do I record?

    From the main menu, select "Storage", then select "Schedule", then record tab. "Regular" is for continuous recording. "MD" is for Motion Detection to only record when motion is sensed.

    Can I view my camera feeds on my phone?

    Yes, providing the XVR is connected to your home broadband, you can view footage via the Yale View app when you are WiFi on 4G /5G. 


    I cannot connect to the app

    Please ensure that your router is connected to a 2.4ghz Wi-Fi network and not 5ghz. Press the WPS button on your router and then the one on your camera.

    Wait a short while and then try to reconnect.

    How do I reset my Device Password?

    During set-up, the user can choose a password, a pattern, and a security question, we strongly suggest doing all 3. 

    They are also asked for their email, it is not mandatory, but we strongly recommend providing one for a reset if required.

    Does the XVR have built in Wi-Fi?

    No, you have to connect directly to the router using an Ethernet cable. You can use Wi-Fi extenders with an embedded Ethernet port to get an access point closer to your XVR.

    I have forgotten my user account / password 

    You can reset your password by entering your email address on the Forgot my Password form.


    Can I play back images/video?

    Yes, you can play back through the Yale View app.

    Does the Yale Smart Motion CCTV have two-way audio?

    Yes it does. You can listen or talk back with the built-in microphone and speaker.

    Will my cameras work at night?

    Yes, Smart Motion CCTV has 30m nightvision / 10m colour nightvision. 

    Can more than one user login to the same camera?

    Yes. additional users can be set up via the app.
