What are the key features of the Yale Smart Keypad 2 - Fingerprint?
Auto-Unlock is a feature that automatically unlocks your door when you arrive home, without having to reach for your phone or your keys. If you're an iOS user, this article has more information about the Auto-Unlock feature.

What application should I use with the Yale Smart Fingerprint Keypad?
How to set up the Yale Smart Fingerprint Keypad?
This guide provides steps to set up your Yale Smart Keypad for the first time.
NOTE: To connect the keypad to an existing lock, any previously connected keypads need to be disconnected.
1. Unclip the back panel from the keypad.
2. Remove the battery isolating pull tab, this will power on the keypad for the first time.
3. After removing the battery-insulating pull tab, ensure the LED dots on the front of the keypad are blinking.
4. Open the Yale Home App and select the + icon from the top right corner of the dashboard.
5. Scan the QR code on the back of the keypad located above the batteries when prompted.
6. Select Start Setup and follow the onscreen instructions in the Yale Home app. You will see a series of screens as the Yale Home app connects to your Smart Keypad 2. As part of the onboarding process, the Yale Home app will first download and install any new firmware updates into the keypad. You will then be asked to select the Yale Lock you want to link the keypad with.
7. Congratulations! Your Smart Keypad 2 is ready to use.
How to install the Yale Smart Fingerprint Keypad?
There are two ways to mount the Yale Smart Keypad 2 onto your property. You can use the adhesive pad or the screw fittings that are supplied in the box.

How do I register my Fingerprint to the Yale Smart Keypad 2 during setup?
When setting up the keypad for the first time in the Yale Home app, you are given the option to register your fingerprint.
Alternatively, if you select 'skip for now' during the first-time setup, a fingerprint can be added to a user via the Access option from the main dashboard as shown below:
Note - from here you may also register a Guest's fingerprint.
How do I power on the Yale Smart Fingerprint Keypad?
The Yale Smart Keypad 2 will automatically power on when inserting the batteries.
Please Note - The same applies if you ever want to power off the keypad permanently, remove the batteries.
Is it possible to power the Yale Smart Fingerprint Keypad from a mains power outlet in the home?
No, the Yale Smart Keypad 2 can only be powered by the AAA batteries supplied in the box.
What batteries does the Yale Smart Fingerprint Keypad take?
The Yale Smart Keypad 2 - Fingerprint takes 4 x AAA batteries, we recommend using good quality branded batteries.
What is the expected battery life of the Yale Smart Fingerprint Keypad?
The expected battery life is 6 months.
What is the IP rating of the Yale Smart Fingerprint Keypad?
The rating is IP55 – water and dust resistant.
How do I replace the batteries in the Yale Smart Fingerprint Keypad?
Remove the Keypad from the Mounting Plate:
- Locate the small pinhole at the bottom of the keypad.
- Insert the pin end of the removal tool into this hole.
- Push the pin in until the front of the keypad detaches from the rear mounting plate.
Replace the Batteries:
- Once the keypad front is removed, you will see the battery tray inside.
- Remove the old 4 x AAA batteries.
- Insert the new 4 x AAA batteries into the battery tray, ensuring correct polarity.
Reattach the Keypad:
- Place the front keypad back onto the rear mounting plate.
- Press firmly until it clicks back into place.

You can pair only one keypad with a Yale Smart Lock at a time. This includes either:

If you wish to switch to a different keypad, you’ll need to unpair the current one before pairing a new device.
