Troubleshooting FAQ's

Here you can find the answers for Troubleshooting the Yale SR Smart Alarm.

  • I can’t register my Smart Home Alarm Range System to the app?

You have 3 hours from the time you turn on and connect the hub to the Internet to register the app.

  • I haven’t set up my app within the 1-hour setup window. What should I do?

Disconnect the power supply from the hub, and switch off the backup battery. Wait 10 minutes and reboot.

  • There are no lights on my Door Contact / Keypad after I have changed the batteries

Please ensure the battery is inserted in the correct manner, see the presentation below.

  • My keypad will arm but not disarm the system?

This is because the keypad hasn’t been initialized. Please remove the keypad from the system in the device settings menu, then initialize the keypad as follows:

    1. Press panic button A, then 0000
    2. The LED will flash continuously on the Key Pad
    3. Press panic button A, followed by 7
    4. Press disarm twice

Re-add the Key Pad to the system in the device settings menu in the normal learn mode way

  • Why are my devices not learning into my Smart Home Alarm system?

This could be due to a number of reasons:

    • Compatibility
    • Out of range
    • Faulty device
    • Poor Internet connection
  • Why does my alarm trigger as soon as I enter my property?

This is because your settings via the app are set to do this as default and the sensors are set to Burglar. You can change these in the Yale Home app, set these sensors to Entry Zone.

  • My Panic button is not working

Please press and hold for a least 5 seconds to activate.

  • My PIR is not responding when I arm the system?

The PIR goes into sleep mode for two minutes. Please vacate the area covered by the PIR for a full 2 minutes before testing.

  • My Smart Hub is beeping every 30 seconds and also has an Orange light illuminated

This means there has been an alarm activation, or there is a fault in the system. Please fully arm the system, then disarm. If the fault light is still on please go into the app and check if there are any faults with any of the devices.

  • Alarm regularly sounds, but no messages shown in app. What is the reason for this?

The tamper spring at the back of the siren is not pushed in far enough. The siren is a plastic box that expands and contract s with heat and cold – it will move very slightly (less than 1mm sometimes) which moves the spring causing a tamper fault.

  • I keep getting supervision failure

Please ensure supervision is disabled in the settings app.

  • My hub won’t connect to the Internet

Check all wires are connected and your router is connected to the internet, power down the hub including the backup battery and the router, then turn the hub and router back on. Try again to connect.

  • Why won’t my PIR Image Camera learn into my Smart Home Alarm System?

This is because the PIR Image camera isn’t in the setting mode. Please remove the batteries and wait for 1 minute. Re-insert the batteries again and put the hub into learn mode. Press and hold the camera PIR learn button for 10 seconds until the camera flashes.

Continue to hold down for a further 5 seconds, the Smart Hub will bleep and then you will see the camera appear as a device on the app.
