  • My Accessories won't connect to my Yale Smart Alarm Hub?

    Check the batteries are inserted correctly and the plastic travel/packaging strip is removed. 

    During the learning process, ensure you have activated the device tamper button.

  • My Yale Keypad Arms, but does not Disarm, why?

    In the Yale Home app, check the guest management access rights are set up with the correct permissions.

  • My Hub reports that it is offline?

    Check the Yale Smart Alarm hub is connected to the internet. In the Yale Home App, go to Hub Settings > Utilities > Network settings, here you can check both ethernet and Wi-Fi connection.

    Check the ethernet cable is connected if using ethernet. 

    Check if other devices in the same household are offline, the local network itself may be offline. 

  • My Yale Smart Alarm Siren activates immediately when entering the property?

    Check your sensor settings, you should have 1 entry zone which is usually the front door, when set as the front door, this zone triggers a countdown before triggering the Alarm Siren. 

    In the Yale Home app, go into Device Settings > Security Areas > Select the security area you want to change > under Modes you can change the Entry and Exit delay time from immediate ( 0 seconds) to 120 seconds. 

  • My Yale Smart Alarm hub beeps every 15 minutes and shows a warning triangle?

    This is to alert you to a problem that has been registered by the Yale Smart Alarm Hub, normally this is to warn you of a low battery or tamper alert.

    Check the Yale Home app, on the Alarm dashboard screen there will be a notification that you can open for specific information on what is triggering the alert.

  • My hub beeps every 15 minutes and shows a red cloud icon?

    This indicates the Yale Smart Alarm Hub is not online or connected to our Yale cloud. 

    Check the hub's internet connection. In the Yale Home App, go to hub Settings > Utilities > Network settings, here you can check both ethernet and Wi-Fi connection.

    Check the ethernet cable is connected if using ethernet. 

    Check if other devices in the same household are offline, the local network itself may be offline. 

  • I have forgotten my user / account password for the Yale Home app?

    You can reset your password from the Yale Home app login screen by choosing the 'Forgot Password menu'.

  • I keep getting the in app message supervision failure?

    Check the device (the accessory triggering the warning) is within range of the Yale Smart Alarm Hub.

    If you are still receiving warnings you can disable supervision for the one accessory that is triggering the warning, although we do not recommend this. 

    Supervision mode activates a notification if any devices lose connectivity with the Yale Smart Alarm Hub. To deactivate Supervision mode, in the Yale Home app, open settings for the specific device, scroll down to Supervision Mode, and slide the setting off.

  • Why does my Yale Home app keep triggering notifications for no reason?

    There should always be a reason for which the Yale Home app sends you a notification.

    Check the activity feed in the Yale Home app to see what has triggered the app notifications. The activity feed will list all events from all accessories connected. (for example, critical battery, tamper alert, etc).

  • My Yale Keyfob is not working?

    Check you have not enabled the button lock function on the Yale Keyfob.

    The Yale Keyfob has the ability to lock the buttons to prevent you from pressing them when in your pocket or bag. To activate this feature, press the hold the HOME arm (part arm) button down for 3 seconds. This will lock the buttons and the red LED will flash. To unlock the buttons press and hold the HOME arm (part arm) down for 3 seconds the green LED will flash to indicate the buttons are unlocked.  

  • Would I be able to alarm my house and my garden buildings or shed using just one Yale Smart Alarm Hub?

    Yes, you can protect different areas of your home using one Yale Smart Alarm Hub. You can assign the accessories up to 4 different security areas. (For example house, garage, shed).

    The accessory devices communicate via Horizon + Technology, 2-way radio frequency operating on 868 MHz which gives a range of approximately 1km with a clear line of sight.

  • My Yale Smoke Sensor is beeping once every 45 seconds what does this mean?

    This indicates the internal battery is low and the unit needs to be replaced. The batteries are sealed inside the unit and can't be replaced. The expected battery life is 10 years. 

  • My Yale Panic Button is not working?

    To trigger a panic alarm, the Yale Button must be pressed and held for 2 seconds. 

    If the above fails, please check the device settings in the Yale Home app that you have configured the Yale Button to be functional in panic mode. You can toggle between the doorbell and panic functions.
