  • Where can I find the QR-code to scan when setting up the Yale Smart Video Doorbell?

    The QR code is located on the rear of the Yale Smart Video Doorbell.

  • How many video clips can be stored in the local storage in the Yale Smart Video Doorbell?

    As a guide the Yale Smart Video Doorbell has approximately 3-4 days of videos storage if set to 720p, 20 clips per day, 10 seconds long.

    If the camera is set to record in 1080P the storage limit is approximately 2 days.

  • I am receiving  a lot of notifications from the Yale Smart Video Doorbell, how can I adjust this to ensure I only received necessary notifications?

    You can customise the motion detection in the Yale Home app under  House Settings >Select your Yale Smart Video Doorbell Settings>Motion Detection Settings . You can adjust to only detect Humans and also adjust motion detection sensitivity. You can also adjust the  Motion Detection Re trigger time under Advanced Setting >Motion Re-Trigger Time and adjust to increase the time from off to 60 seconds . This will reduce the number of alerts in concession. 

  • Does the Yale Smart Video Doorbell have night vision?

    Yes, night vision is up to a range of 6 meters.

  • How would I check the battery level of my Yale Smart Video Doorbell?

    The battery level is displayed in the settings section of the Yale Home app under Device Information, this is displayed as a percentage.

  • What is the battery charge time? 

     It will take approximately 5-6 hours to fully charge the Yale Smart Video Doorbell when the battery is  flat (using a 2 Amp charger, with a 1 Amp charger it can take approximately 1 hour longer)

  • What is the expected battery life of the Yale Smart Video Doorbell?

     This depends on usage and activated features such as motion detect, spot light. A fully charged battery will provide approximatly 4-6 months use

  • What is the IP rating of the Yale Smart Video Doorbell?

    The rating is IP65.

  • How do I unclip the Yale Smart Video Doorbell from the wall mounting bracket?

    Inside the box there is a metal security pin that you need to use. On the bottom part of the Yale Smart Video Doorbell you will find a small hole, insert the pin to release the unit from the backplate.

  • Can I replace the battery inside the Yale Smart Video Doorbell?

    No, the batteries are built-in and rechargeable.

  • Other than using the Yale Home application is there a way to audibly know when someone is at the door?

    Certainly, we have an accessory called the Yale Doorbell Chime* that you can pair with your Yale Smart Video Doorbell. The doorbell chime plugs into your power outlet and makes a sound when someone presses the doorbell button.

  • Can I use my existing doorbell chime in the home with the Yale Smart Video Doorbell?

    If you have an existing mechanical chime in your home this willl need to disconnect from the power supply as it won't be possible to integrate it with the Yale Smart Video Doorbell. 

    A dedicated Yale Doorbell Chime is sold seperatly and this will compliment  the Yale Smart Video Doorbell. 

  • What does the motion sensitivity setting do?

    When you reduce the sensitivity via the Yale Home app, the detection range will be shorter. This means that it will only detect motion or objects that are closer to the Yale Smart Video Doorbell.

    You can adjust the sensitivity  within the Yale Home applications settings for Motion Sensitivity.

  • Does the Yale Smart Doorbell have night vision?

    Yes, night vision is up to a range of 6 meters.
