  • How do I set up Matter on my device?

    To utilise Matter, you must on board the product in the Yale Home App prior to onboarding into any Matter integrations. 
    1. Open your Yale Home App and select your lock.
    2. Go to Lock settings: a new category called "External Platform" will be available with a "Matter" submenu.
    3. Clicking on Matter will bring you to a set up menu. Ensure you are near your lock and the lock is powered on.
    4. Click on Enable Matter, The button will link you to a page with a pairing code inside. 
    5. Click on Copy code and then Next.
    6. In the next page, click on Begin connecting, you have 15 minutes to complete the configuration on the Matter device. During these 15 minutes it will not be possible to operate your device.
    7. Once this operation is done, you can open your preferred Matter Smart Home Platform, look for the instructions to pair Matter devices and paste the code you have copied before in Yale Home. Follow the instructions on screen and your pairing will be done.

    Matter enables seamless integration of your smart lock into leading smart home ecosystems. Local Matter integration operates within your network, offering quick and secure control of your smart lock.

    To integrate your Linus L2 into your smart home, you need a suitable hub that supports Matter. Compatible hubs include devices from Apple Home, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, and Amazon Alexa. 

  • What are the benefits of Matter?

  • Which Yale products will support Matter?

    The Yale Linus L2 Smart Lock.

  • How do I manage the Matter connection on Linus L2?

    Disconnect Matter: If you disconnect Matter, your Linus L2 will no longer be available via Matter. Existing connections will be disconnected. If you want to reactivate them later, you can easily do so using the slider. You do not need to redo the initial activation. 

  • Do I need to register Matter connections with the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) or Matter websites?

    No, you do not need to resigster on CSA or the Matter website.

  • Are there subscription fees or other costs associated to Matter?

    No, there are no fees or other costs associated to Matter. 

  • What new features does Matter introduce on Linus L2?

    The new Matter 1.2 standard distinguishes between the actions "Open door" and "Unlock". Matter 1.2 is supported on FW version 2.0.20 or higher of your Linus L2.
    Please note: This new feature is currently only available with Home Assistant as the Matter Hub.
