What is Matter?
Matter is a common language for smart home devices. It aims to simplify the smart home ecosystem by ensuring devices from different manufacturers work together seamlessly.

No, there are no fees associated to Matter.
Everyday Use
Can my existing Linus L2 use Matter?
To use your Linus L2 with Matter, the firmware on your Linus L2 must be 2.0.20 or above and Yale Home App firmware version 2024.11.0 or above.
Will I still need a Smart Hub or Yale Connect Wi-Fi Bridge?
The only bridge or Hub required is from the partner integration. If you are connecting your Linus L2 to a Matter partner integration, you must use the Linus L2's built-in WiFi.
Could I use Matter to remotely control my device?
Once your Linus L2 is connected to your preferred Smart Home App (Alexa, Google Home etc), you can lock and unlock your Linus L2 and check lock status or battery state.
Troubleshooting
- Reboot the device by removing and inserting the battery of the Linus L2
- Check to see if reboot resolves the failure if not proceed to step 3
- Navigate to Matter settings in Yale Home
- Disconnect Matter
