Where can I install my Yale Smart Cabinet Lock?
Your Yale Smart Cabinet Lock can be installed anywhere with a door or drawer that you wish to secure. Typical installations include kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinets, and desk drawers.
Do I have to use the provided screws to install my Yale Smart Cabinet Lock?
If a user decides not to set up the Yale Smart Safe with Yale Home, they have the option to set it up in 'Stand Alone mode' using either the key or the keypad.

Everyday Use
Is my Yale Smart Cabinet Lock compatible with voice assistants?
Yes, as long as you have purchased the Yale Access Wi-Fi Connect Bridge, you can use your cabinet lock with all 3 voice assistants; Siri, Google Assistant and Alexa.
Why is my cabinet/drawer always locked when I close the cabinet/drawer?
The automatic relock feature is turned on by default. This means, every time you close your cabinet/drawer the cabinet/drawer is locked. You can turn this feature off from the Yale Home App. Note, if you turn this feature off, the only way to lock the cabinet lock will be from the Yale Home App.
What is the button on the top of the Yale Smart Cabinet Lock used for?
The button on the top of the cabinet lock glows in the dark and unlocks the cabinet lock. This can be used as an emergency escape, in case a small child locks themselves inside a cabinet.
Troubleshooting
How do I Factory Reset my lock?
Follow the steps below to perform a factory reset on your lock:
1. On your phone, open the Yale Access App and go to the lock circle screen, which is the screen that shows you whether your door is locked or unlocked.
2. Select the Settings menu (gear icon).
3. Select the device you wish to reset.
4. Scroll to factory reset.
5. Select "Reset Lock".
Updating Lock Firmware
Firmware updates are released periodically to help improve connection speed, connection reliability, motor controls and Auto-Lock.
Firmware updates begin automatically when the lock owner connects to their lock. You cans till operate your lock via the app during the update. Firmware updates can take anywhere from 5-15 minutes. Be sure to keep your phone near your lock, with the Yale app open throughout the whole update.
Trouble Connecting to Lock
If you are having trouble connecting to your lock using the Yale Home app, the following troubleshooting may help:
- Trying to connect remotely
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: Turn off and on
- Forcequit the Yale Home app
- Trying to connect over Bluetooth
